Low Battery Warning for Key Fob

Been having problems with the key fob battery. The car gives me a low battery warning and I switch out the CR2430 batteries. Everything works so I am hesitant to change out the batteries again when the warning pop-up a few months later. But eventually I pick up another set of batteries from Outdoor Supply Hardware (formerly known as Orchard Supply Hardward). It’s a brand name battery that still has not expired. This time, I measure the voltage before I install the battery and the brand new 3V batteries come back at 2.8V, which isn’t too far off from the older batteries I am replacing. Even with the new set of batteries, I still get the low battery warning, which I live with. Have no problems unlocking the doors or starting the car right now, but eventually something will happen. One day, all these false positives will actually turn true. So, this time I picked up some Swiss-made Renata batteries from Amazon. When they arrived, I measured them right out of the packet. Over 3V!! Now I know.
